Tim Hughes - Co-Founder / Director

Tim, the Co-founder of Carbon Life Ltd has a Bachelor of Music from Huddersfield. He has over 3 years experience in the Carbon Markets and over 9 years experience in the Banking industry. During his time in the financial sector Tim has worked closely with a friend and colleague employed in Carbon Markets and has developed a keen interest and understanding of the environment, leading to a strong desire to get involved in the challenge of Global Warming and have a greater impact on the problems we face today.

He has followed the growth and development of this market since the advent of the Kyoto Protocol and the emergence of carbon as a tradable commodity in both the compliance and Voluntary sectors. Over the last 3 years Tim has been able to combine his strategic business, technical and Project skills with his passion for the environment, through an intense study plan combined with professional consultation on bespoke projects for the benchmarking of internal standards and protocols and internal quality assessment reviews of Carbon Projects.

Tim's core expertise is in the Project Management, business analysis and process engineering arena, delivering a number of projects across various banking products, including; new process/system design and implementation, change management and high profile legal and compliance projects, he has achieved successful delivery of cost effective solutions within aggressive time frames and without compromise.  Before moving his career to the Financial sector, Tim had a successful, proven track record during his employ as a commercial contracts and sales negotiator for a major gas and oil company.

Success has seen Tim pick up a variety of experience, awards and certification in many different area's including; Prince 2 and 6 sigma Project Management methodologies, implementation of his methods of approach and documentation techniques have been recognised and implemented as best practice for specific projects across the global organisation to which he was in contract to, certified in the UNEPFI course of 'Risk and Financial Opportunities in the Carbon Markets' and study of project financing within the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM).

Tim has taken this success into his personal life with many awards for sport and music, he likes to keep fit by swimming, playing golf, squash and going to the gym and has a keen interest in varying sports but specifically international Rugby Union.
