Carl Hughes - Co-Founder / Director

Carl is the Co-Founder of Carbon Life Ltd and has over 7 years experience in the carbon markets. Previous to this Carl consulted in the IT industry, during this time Carl's interest in current affairs and the environment developed. Deciding he wanted to 'make a difference' and get involved in the Carbon Markets Carl set himself a very aggressive study plan, learning the detailed information of the Carbon Markets and how best to take action. Finding a natural niche in the project development and origination he decided to concentrate his time and efforts in this area. With direct involvement in over 30 Carbon Development Projects across the Voluntary and Compliance sector, Carl has achieved detailed expertise and knowledge, a much sought after commodity in today's market.

His core expertise is in the creation of new protocols, policies and methodologies to generate carbon credits within corporate assets. Using his extensive knowledge in Project Design Document (PDD) creation to create many Carbon Projects across various technology and geographical boundaries, covering all aspects of additionality, methodology calculations, baseline reviews, monitoring plans and feasibility studies, finalising the process through to the Validation and Verification process.
Carl was the Project Developer for an Award winning Carbon Project based in the UK and has been approached by various major corporations around the world to assist them in their Carbon Initiatives

Over the past few years Carl has gained an intrinsic understanding of the Carbon Markets and has completed several consulting engagements for corporate carbon strategy, procurement, ERPA negotiations’ and carbon credit sales. His portfolio of engagements include some of the largest retail outlets and blue chip corporations across the UK and internationally.

Carl likes to keep fit by going to the Gym, boxing and swimming. He has a keen interest in sport of varying type specifically motor sport, football, rugby and basketball.
